The Växjö Lakers have brought in some help from oversees as Canadian Félix Robert is set to lace em up for his first season of Swedish and European hockey. The 25 year old centre has spent the past four seasons in the AHL and had a successful junior career in the QMJHL previous to that.
- We have followed Félix for a few years and really like the way he plays. A player who stands for very smart hockey and at the same time competes in all possible situations, says Växjö's sporting director Henrik Evertsson
The contract is valid for the next two seasons.
Växjö isn't the only team to look across the pond for some help this week. Brynäs has filled its final roster spot with American Bobby Trivigno. The 25 year old forward has spent the past three seasons in the AHL and will be making his SHL debut this fall.
- Bobby is a winner who is skilled, intense and who always gives 100 percent on the ice. Despite his size, he is not afraid of denser "traffic" but also plays fast and physically. That mix of qualities makes him a useful player in several different roles and positions, says Brynäs sporting director Johan Alcén.
SHL fans are more than familiar with the Liv family name and the late great Stefan Livs son has come to terms with Örebro on a hybrid contract. The 17 year old has not yet played a game in the SHL but has shown great promise as a junior. He helped the Örebro J20 team to a silver medal last season after posting a record of 6-2 with a 2.09 GAA and a .928 SV%.
- Herman has impressed us during his years in the Örebro jersey. We see Herman as a man of the future and really like his accuracy and high level of competition. That we can now continue to work together with Herman for at least two more years, while he becomes a more natural part of the SHL team, feels both exciting and inspiring, says Örebro's sporting director Henrik Löwdahl
The contract will allow Liv to play for both the Junior squad and the main team and is valid for the next two seasons.
