Färjestad were the only team to make a player move this week, as most rosters have been finalized for the upcoming season. Färjestad made a late off season acquisition as they picked up Canadian centreman Remi Elie. The 27 year old from Green Valley, Ontario has spent his entire professional career in North America bouncing between the AHL and the NHL. He has spent time with Dallas, Buffalo, Tampa Bay and their AHL affiliates. All in all he has racked up 107 NHL games over the past seven seasons in North America.
– Elie possesses many of the qualities that we lost when Gustav (Rydahl) and Jacob (de la Rose) left us. He is a good combination of power and skill and has experience in both the NHL, and has been a top player in the AHL in recent years. We hope he can complement the forward crew we have in a good way, says Färjestad's sporting director Rickard Wallin.
The contract i valid for the upcoming season.
Timrå had a good showing in the pre season SCA cup tournament this past week as they won over Björklöven 3-2 in the final.
– This is a fun tournament that is fun to play. It's close and it somehow feels like a home tournament, even if it's Sundsvall who hold it. Then it's a bit up and down when you check the game, said Timrås team captain Anton Lander
